The Alaska Lodge

Here at Wolverine Lake you will enjoy a relaxing picturesque getaway. While staying at the lodge you might see moose, beaver, otter, muskrat, fox, and the occasional bear. We also have bald eagles, swans, loons, ducks and grebes. With the binoculars you are likely to spot Dall sheep on the surrounding mountains. At Wolverine Lake you will have access to unbelievable fishing for native rainbow and lake trout, Dolly Varden, Greyling, Arctic char, pike and all 5 species of salmon.

Relax in the hot tub while surveying the amazing view of the Wolverine Lake and the Chugach Mountains. Enjoy our high-speed internet, cable t.v., and a game room with a pool table and a stand up arcade machine. Hang out at the viewing deck, fire pits, picnic table by the lake.

The Chalet

Three bed | Two bath | Sleeps nine

The top two floors of the chalet are completely self contained with a 3 bedroom 2 bath arrangement and a full kitchen. The top floor is the master with a sauna in the bathroom. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, the kitchen and the great room area. It sleeps 9 people. It has floor to ceiling windows and has spectacular views. Two night minimum. $150 cleaning fee.

The Cabin

Three bed | Two bath | Sleeps eight

The cabin is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The top floor has a queen bed and a twin xl bed. The first floor has a queen/twin xl bunk and the other bedroom has a queen bed. It has a full kitchen and dining area on the main floor as well. The upstairs has a small outside balcony allowing a spectacular view of Wolverine Lake and the Chugach Mountain Range, including the 6,093 ft. summit of Matanuska Peak.

The Hill House

Three bed | Two bath | Sleeps eight

The Hill House includes three queen and two full sized beds. The master bed and bath are located on the bottom floor. On the top floor are two bedrooms along with a full sized bath. The open floor plan kitchen, dining room and living space is ideal for social gatherings. With lake facing floor to ceiling windows that are perfect for the long alaskan days.

What to do in our area.

Wolverine Lake is located in Southcentral Alaska’s Matanuska Valley. Experience the spectacular Denali National Park to the north, and glacier cruise the rugged Alaskan coastline to the south. Day trips from the lodge may include Denali flightseeing and glacier landing; glacier and wildlife cruising, salt-water fishing, ocean kayaking and much more!

Hiking

Just minutes from the lodge are multiple trailheads venturing into the Chugach Mountains that range from beginner to advanced. You can leisurely hike and sight see or climb a mountain peak if you choose! On a hike from the Chalet, you might have the opportunity to pick wild blueberries, photograph wildlife, or watch salmon complete their journey when they return to the lake to spawn. There are many adventures awaiting you here at Wolverine Lake! Within the Matanuska Valley, you have over 1,200 miles of non-permit hiking trails with world class views in three different mountain ranges.

Fishing

When you arrive, you will be surrounded by lakes and rivers. You will find an abundance of Alaskan freshwater fishing opportunities for the skilled and the novice outdoorsman and have access to unbelievable fishing for native rainbow and lake trout, Dolly Varden, Greyling, Arctic char, pike and all 5 species of salmon. Fishing rods and reels are available for our guests. From Palmer, you are only 2-½ hours from the world famous Kenai River kings, 3-½ hours from Seward's silver salmon and 6 hours from Homer, the halibut capital of the world!
